I come from: St.Petersburg, Russia
What I studied before MA SES: B.A, St Petersburg State University, Faculty of Philology, Smolny College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Major-Sociology
Why I study in the MA SES programme: I have a Bachelor degree and I am thoroughly convinced that it is insufficient in my future career. So I decided to get a Master degree. During studying at the Smolny College of Liberal Arts and Science I have listened different classes from many interesting fields of knowledge. My major was sociology that I am interesting in. Yet, after I had been listened the class of International Law I discovered a new sphere of interest to me. That is why I decided to combine my interests. The European Societies is the best opportunity to study international relationships in the light of sociology that is really essential to me. First of all, this program has multidisciplinary approach. In my view it is indispensable nowadays to use such approach in studying situation of the world. Secondly, both teachers and students are people from different countries. That is why discussing problems become not one-sided view. Another advantage of this program is a good opportunity to start a career. It is so because one of the most important parts of the curriculum is an internship with international organizations in Russia and Europe. Then, there is perfect language training for me: improving English and possibility to take up German. To sum up, I really enjoy this master program. Knowledge defines me as a specialist and, together with perseverance and luck, will help me to build my career.
